5 Things

Today's 5 Things post comes from one of my absolute favorite bloggers, Olivia. Her blog, Everyday Musings, is full of wonderful pictures and insight into her sweet life. I hope her list inspires you to have a lovely weekend.

1. have an outside day. go to markets, parks, have picnics, etc.
this is even more fun if you do this via bicycle.
{my boyfriend and i love to bike to the farmers market in
charleston, buy fresh fruit, and bike down to the waterfront
and have a little picnic!}

2. buy fresh flowers to put in your kitchen...
a luxury worth regularly indulging in.
{pretty flowers always brighten my day}

3. bake cupcakes for someone
{and have a friend for life}

4. buy or make pretty stationary and write a letter
to someone you haven't talked to in a long time.
{or become regular pen pals with your grandma, like me.
finding a letter in the mailbox always makes my day!}

5. make dinner with a friend.
{my boyfriend and i looove cooking together. eating is
one of our favorite hobbies, and it is also a great excuse
to dance around the kitchen.}

  6. How funny. Your things to do sound like my weekends as well.

    My boyfriend and I LOVE making pizza dough and coming up with different things to put on it (all while I do ballet...in the kitchen--ha ha)

    Fresh flowers in my (or any room) room? CHECK!

    Farmers market?! The place to find the BEST eggs and strawberries! I feel its really good to support what is left of the farmers before they are gone forever :(

    Of course, biking around in the summer is the best. Esp in Chicago where winters are ridiculous, you learn to cherish any time in the heat.

    Great blog!

  34. Nice to meet you, Mishka! These are lovely tips. I would add that it can also be nice to grow your OWN fresh flowers, as they often have a sweeter aroma than store-bought. I like to make bouquets of homegrown lilacs in springtime, and roses in summer mixed with fragrant herbs and grasses. :) Way better than an air freshener!
