I've never really given any thought towards tattoos before, but these two are so lovely that I keep finding myself drawn back to them.
Whenever I see tattoos, I'm always so curious about the stories behind them. I think the only reason I could see myself getting a tattoo would be if it was something that was extra special to me, but I haven't ever found anything that I particularly feel I need as a tattoo.
Do you have any tattoos? If so, do they have a special meaning to you?

i don't have any tattoos. yet. haha. (: but i'm definitely planning to get one when i'm old enough! <3
ReplyDeleteno tattoos for me! im afraid of needles so i wouldn't survive one. haha.
ReplyDeletei do love that second one, the paper airplane is so pretty and cute!
NO tattoos yet, but I've already planned my first. All I need is an appointment!
ReplyDeleteno tattoos yet, although i have atleast one planned. hopefully i'll get it soon!
ReplyDeleteI have a delicate tattoo of a dove on my shoulder and I absolutely love it. I wanted something subtle and it turned out perfect. It was worth it. Both of those are gorgeous and I don't think you would regret either of them or something like those!
ReplyDeletethe paper plane one is incredible!
ReplyDeleteI have three small tattoos so far, and plan one more small one and one text piece :)
I don't have one but secretly want something small and discrete. Both of these are lovely...
ReplyDeleteThe paper plane one is gorgeous!
ReplyDeletei have one on my side about 4 or 5 inches long.
ReplyDeleteit's of three cherry blossoms and it says "sakura" in hirigana. that means cherry blossom in japanese. i got the word sakura because i absolutely adore anything japanese, and sakura was the first place i ate my first piece of legitimate sushi, it's the first word i learned as a child to translate from japanese to english, and it's the name of the girl from cardcaptors, one of my childhood animes i watched!
=]
it's written in hirigana (not just because it's suspposed to be, but) because it was the first writing style we learned in my first japanese class i took. i later learned that odd numbers are lucky in japan (the three characters, the three cherry blossoms, the one petal) and i got it because i KNEW it would be a tattoo i'd never regret.
i want more, but only when i'm 100% sure if it and its placement. i'm thinking long and hard on whatever i get next... whenever it may be!

i really love these. i was just going to do a tattoo post! i've been wanting one for a while... an anchor representing my childhood growing up on a sailboat. i'm still to afraid of the pain! but one day soon, perhaps. :)
ReplyDeleteI adore the paper airplane and its placement!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting one for forever - one that says, "it is well with my soul." It's my favorite hymn and I have been through so much crap in my life, but I have learned to be okay with it. So I've really been wanting that one for some time. Only trouble is where I would get it... I'd want to be able to show it off, but I'm also going to be an elementary school teacher. Decisions, decisions!
I love them both, the way they are small, simple and elegant. I have a frog on my arm because I have collected them since I was little and love the way amphibians are able to adapt to their environment. I also have a small 4 leaf clover on my upper thigh, in celebration of my Irish heritage. I want to finish it with a magnolia blossom and an oak leaf in an effort to celebrate my southern and German heritage as well.
ReplyDeleteI have three. The first was a small four-leaf clover on my hip that I got with friends in college who are no longer friends (I hate it but it reminds me of mistakes I've made). The second is the time "10:47" on my left wrist with a red star, in memory of my ex-boyfriend, who died almost six years ago. And finally, a "scribble heart" on my foot, a heart made partially of a question mark, which means "Are you brave enough to love?" to try to remind myself to be. It needs some work, but I do like it a lot. I sort of wish I'd waited until I was older to get them, though...
ReplyDeleteI just got my first one this spring. Pisces symbol on the inside of my wrist. And I'm dying for a second one. So many ideas, so little money...
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool post! I love tattoos but haven't really found a strong enough reason to get one done. Also, as much as I dig them, I have the feeling I'm not the sort of girl who could pull it off? My mother has 2: a yin/yang bracelet and another one which is a nerdy portrayal of life's origins (DNA, water, plants, the atom). If I ever get tattooed it's very likely that it will involve a koi fish and a quote. Thanks for this post Michelle!! XX
ReplyDeletei planned my tattoo out for years until I finally figured out what I wanted..and its funny I have also wanted a paper airplane for the longest time! i laughed when I saw that posted pic :)
