the library
Wednesdays are my boring day, and I kind of love it. I drive an hour to campus, sit through an hour of a biology lecture, then have four hours to kill until biology lab and another hour-long drive home. So I usually get a bagel, run any errands I have in town, then head to the library.
I would live in this library, if I could. It's huge, quiet, smells like old books, and is always incredibly empty. Does no one study on this campus? Not that I care, I prefer having an entire row of tables to myself. Like I do right now (except for the guy who is using his hat as a pillow the next row down).
Lately, I've been having a really hard, stressful time, which I'll probably blog more about soon. So having a few quiet hours to myself in the middle of the week feels like heaven.

I have a really hard time with down time. I never schedule it for myself and am always running around like a crazy person, trying to do a million things. This is why I love when my schedule forces downtime upon me. A few minutes to read while waiting for the dentist is even amazing.
Way to look on the bright side, I would have probably looked at the four hour space between class and lab as a problem. It is so much better to look at it like you do.
I wish VT's library was like that. It is always so hard to find a place!
The library at the U of Iowa was by FAR my favorite place on campus- I used to sit in the stacks for hours and hours. Love it. Great place to decompress!
Libraries ARE the best! I work in one! Anyway, I'm glad that you've found refuge among the books. And about the stress . . .from following your blog, you've had a lot of big changes in your life lately, try and take it easy girl and keep writing! I love this blog--the pictures you take are AMAZING, you've inspired me to make smoothies, and your Bozeman posts make me nostalgic for my old stomping grounds (I moved to South Dakota from Bozo 6 months ago!)!!

I wish Jen and I could live in an old library... Make ourselves a little loft style apartment above all of the books. <3 I know that will probably never happen, but it's fun to dream. ;) I love being surrounded by stories and adventures. I love going through book aisles. I just love libraries! And I love days like you described, they are such fun!
