This is my morning: continuing a new series I'm reading, bagel with extra cream cheese, and coffee and almond milk in my happy mug. Yesterday was incredibly stressful, so I'm taking it easy today. My only plans are to do whatever makes me happy.
I'll probably write a more in-depth post about this in a few days, but I decided yesterday to switch both my teaching major and minor. Thankfully, the decision shouldn't affect my graduation date at all. I'm scared to make such a big change, especially this far into school, but I prayed and prayed about it and now I'm going to trust God to guide me on my new path. I get anxious about making decisions that affect my life this much, but I'm making my happiness a priority and this is the best way to do it.

You'll be successful at whatever you choose! Don't let it stress you out.
ReplyDeletexo.
I changed both my major and minor 1 1/2 years back and now I'll be graduating a whole year later - but in the end it was so worth it and I don't regret it at all! If it makes you happy, go for it; I'm sure it was the right choice for you. the best of luck with it!
ReplyDeleteand that mug is super cute :)
Good for you! Your happiness is always the first priority. I had a hard time learning that for awhile. Good luck and I am sure everything will turn out the way it is supposed to.
ReplyDeletegood for you for just going for it! I have found that while sitting and praying is good, it takes a step forward to see how faithful God can be! excited to hear more about it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a major change. No pun intended... ok well maybe a little. I can completely understand how stressful and scary this must be for you. I've become the same way over the past couple of years. Change used to be nothing for me. Funny how we settle into our ways as we get older, huh?
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best of luck on this new venture.
BBL told me i needed to start that series...i ordered the first book but haven't gotten into it yet. should i?
ReplyDeleteOooh! How is your new book?! What series are you reading?
ReplyDeletecongratulations! sometimes choices that are difficult can have the most beautiful outcomes. and god is so faithful. : )
ReplyDeleteI think that's a brilliant way to look at it. If you've prayed about it and you feel peaceful about it... there's not much more you could hope for! Good luck with it.
ReplyDeleteps. I want your mug.

Ohh, the Mortal Instruments books are FANTASTIC! The fifth book (City of Lost Souls) comes out later this year and I am so impatiently waiting for it. I hope you're enjoying the series so far!
ReplyDeletecongrats on making such an important decision! at the end of the day, one's happiness is of the utmost importance.
ReplyDeletep.s. what book are you reading? i'm always looking to add a title to my must read list!
p.s. you're mug is silly....but i like it
ReplyDeleteNo matter what you change it to, you'll be fine; you always end up fine. And I know you've struggled in the past with deciding what to study, so I understand. Heck, I did the same things when it came to deciding WHERE to attend college. Best of luck to you; you'll make the right decision! And a wonderful, laid-back Saturday sounds good. I wish mine hadn't been so busy. I'm glad I got to try that lentil soup, though! I made some this afternoon. Quite good. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a grand day - I need one of those, too. :)
ReplyDeletep.s. God sure knows what He's doing. Prayer is the best.
Sounds like a lovely morning, hope the rest of the day followed suit :-) And well done for making your happiness a priority; I think that we sometimes get to caught up in what we think we *should* do to really focus on what's best for us. Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteYes I agree with you to make happiness as a priority.
ReplyDeletealright - i see you are reading the city of ashes! ugh talk to me about it. i'm a 100 pages from finishing city of bones, and i dont think i like it at all. what happens with jace and c? its so so odd to me, i dont like it! i need some inspiration to keep going...(my financial, time(al), emotional investment is hinging lol)
ReplyDeleteFollowing your heart is always the best bet. I have bounced around SOOOO MUCH...and I want to go back for a graduate degree, but I need to be 100% sure first. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to here about your new course.
ReplyDeleteTake it from someone who should've switched her major and didn't, it's much harder to return to school to study what you WANT to learn after you already have a degree. Financial aid people are very likely to just shut you down once you have a degree, whereas if you are just switching majors before you've graduated, everything's peachy keen. Don't do what I did and finish a degree that you didn't really want just to be finishing something. It'll only hinder your progress in the future when you finally figure out what you DO want to be doing! It sounds like you're already thinking along these lines, which is great - I wish I could go back and tell my younger self to do the same thing!
