I am so happy to have been asked by Michelle to write a guest post for Oh Mishka today while she honeymoons with the love of her life. (!!)
To be honest, when she asked me to write a post I was a bit hesitant... I'm not married, engaged, heck, I don't even have a boyfriend, but then I remembered this quote I read a few weeks ago that just set up home in my heart and has been on my mind ever since.
I think it's perfect for Michelle, and quite truthfully, I imagine it's how I will feel the moment I walk down the aisle someday...
“My heart stopped. It just stopped beating. And for the first time in my life, I had that feeling. You know, like the world is moving all around you, all beneath you, all inside you, and you’re floating. Floating in midair. And the only thing keeping you from drifting away is the other person’s eyes. They’re connected to yours by some invisible physical force, and they hold you fast while the rest of the world swirls and twirls and falls completely away.”
Wendelin Van Draanen
...because when Michelle walks down that aisle to vow her love to Jordan, I have an inkling she'll be able to relate to such a feeling...
Congratulations Michelle & Jordan,
to many wonderful, love-filled years ahead.
Cheers to your love.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading this quote. So thank you, Anna, for sharing it! When I tried on my wedding dress, I was honestly lacking a lot of emotion. I even said, "Fabric doesn't make me cry." It wasn't until I walked around the store and pictured walking toward my fiance, that I got emotional. It's HIM that makes me happy, that gives me butterflies. It is his smile, his eyes, that stop time. ... and I cannot wait for that moment.
