Music Monday: Fall Playlist

Monday, September 3, 2012

The start of fall always makes me so nostalgic. From September through November, I listen to almost exclusively calm, folksy music. Often the songs I love during these months are full of specific memories. I still remember the friend who told me to listen to Jason Myles Goss, and then listening to that song nonstop for the next month. I remember driving around town on Friday nights in high school with my best friends, listening to Dashboard Confessional and being too cool to go to football games. In January, less than a month after getting engaged, Jordan and I painted the office in our new house while listening to Johnny Flynn.

In a lot of ways, this is the most personal playlist I've shared so far on my blog. Most of these songs have very special memories attached to them. A few are ones that I've discovered recently and I can't wait to associate them with great memories too.

Hope you enjoy this start-of-fall playlist as much as I do! We've gotten cool weather here the past week so it's really feeling like the start of a new season. Have a wonderful Labor Day.

  4. Really enjoyed listening to these. I've been getting more into Bon Iver recently. And Mumford & Sons? Ever since my road trip, I've been listening to them nonstop. Have you ever heard of Dawes or The Head and the Heart? We listened to them on the road trip as well.

  5. Fall is my favorite time of year!! It's still pretty warm here in Oregon, but I did notice some fallen leaves the other day. Hopefully we'll get some cooler, rainier weather soon! :)
