garden updates, our poor little garden took a tragic turn for the worse. Jordan was working a night shift a couple weeks ago and I was home by myself for 4 nights. I checked the weather every night before bed to make sure it wouldn't get too cold, but weather.com was not even close and we got a nice frost over the whole town.
All my peppers, tomatoes, squash, and zucchini died. Luckily, we had some root vegetables that survived. Of course, those are the ones Jordan picked out and planted. So while we have carrots, radishes, and onions, we don't have any of the huge variety of plants we picked out in May.
I'm pretty disappointed about it, but I feel like we learned a lot from our first year of gardening. Next year will be different!
And in the meanwhile, we'll be enjoying Jordan's root veggies. Oh, and we found out that one of our backyard trees is actually a plum tree! We have mini-plums galore! Seriously, it's like a cartoon. We just shake the branch and hundreds of mini-plums come raining down. Add that to our apple trees and I'll be busy baking pies and cobblers all autumn long.
